Extra demonstration meeting 2024 on Saturday, May 18th 2024

A special 'extra meeting' has been arranged for members for 2024. This will be a meeting covering the most popular questions raised by members and will have talks, videos and demonstrations.
It will take place at Saughton Botanic Garden Edinburgh on Saturday 18th May 2024 from 11.00am

The proposed programme for the day is:
11.00 am. Arrival tea and coffee.

11.10 am. Margaret Thorne. "Introducing Himalayan Poppies and The Meconopsis Group". Talk.

11.40 am. Ian Scott. Collecting, sowing and storing seed. Demonstration.
Followed by short video by Helen Knowles at Tinnisburn Plants.

12.20 pm. Sharon Bradley. Potting on your germinated seedlings. Talk and demonstration
Followed by opportunity to pot your 'own' seedling.

13.00 to 14.00. Break for packed lunch, or visit to cafe, and a walk round the garden. 

14.00 Short video by Helen Knowles. How to divide Meconopsis and Meconopsis 'Lingholm' as a plant.

14.05 pm. Pat Murphy. Cultivars, cultivation hints, tips and issues and do and don't. Talk
Followed by questions and answers.

Garden Visits on Saturday, May 25th 2024
Kirklands Garden Saline KY12 9TS
A visit to Meconopsis Group members Peter and Gill Hart's two acre garden in Saline has been organised for Saturday 25th May 2024. From 10.30am
Entry to the garden is £10 per person which includes tea or coffee, home baking and a guided tour. Arrival about 10.30 and visit expected to be for about two hours.
There is a lovely nursery of plants, all raised at the garden, so please remember to bring some extra cash!

Peter will be giving a talk about the garden at the groups AGM on Saturday 9th March 2024.
